Pet Abuse

Question 2(a) -What do you understand from your readings regarding the issue?

            Pet abuse had become one of the hot issues that being discussed by the society recently. It is not only happen in our country but all over the world. It had become a trend in the society where it encourages the teenagers to do the same. Pet abuse is no longer about suffering or torturing upon the animals; it may lead to death too. For example, pet abusers will kick the pets, hanging up the pets on tress or even throw them out of the window. These actions are considered as cruel and beastly where not acceptable by the society.

            From the articles I had read, I discovered that most of the pet abuser would take a video of the process for what they did and share it through internet to let others view it. They may think it is like a piece of art or something proud of to share with. When the pet abusers get caught, they will usually being fined a certain amount of money or being jailed as the punishment for their actions. In my opinion, I think that instead of giving such punishments to the pet abusers, we should more emphasize on the ways to prevent or reduce pet abuse cases.  We should have insert themicrochips that records the information and data of the pets and owners which others countries like Japan and Australia had already started for all the pets, so that it is easier to keep track on the pets’ condition or found out who to refer if anything happened to the pets.

            Due to the seriousness of this issue, many non-governmental organizations (NGO) such as Malaysia Dog Deserve Better, Malaysia Animal Welfare Society and Petpositive tried to stand out to fight for the rights of animals. They wanted the law of animals’ protection to be strengthened and the rights of animals to be concerned. The government should really concern about this issue and respond to the request of the NGO. It is not only human need to be protected, so do pets.

            In conclusion, although the pet abusers did it for different purposes or even felt guilty for their actions and apologize to the public, some of the people especially the animal lovers think that their do not deserve forgiveness. The pet owner should responsible to take care and love their pets.

Question 2(b) -Why do you think it occurs? Explain your answer.

            Pet abusers usually did it for different reason. Some of them may be mentally ill. They think that abusing an animal is a way to find power or joy through the torture of a victim they know cannot defend itself. They enjoy the pleasure brought by torturing animals and its process. In addition, they wanted to be famous where they are proud of their actions and share it with others.

            Besides’ that, some of the pet abusers are suffering from depression. The individuals could not handle or accept things happened to them like being fired, unemployment, divorce and so on. Therefore, they found out abusing animals is a way to release their anger and stress. Their intention may not bring death to the animals; however it happens when the individuals cannot control their anger.

            This issue is also caused by the irresponsible characteristics of the pet owners. It is not easy to rear a pet where you need to provide them food, shelter and training. Untrained or misbehave pets with messy stool, urine or barking continuous without any reasons will make the owners feel annoyed and frustrated. Impatient during the training process will also lead to pet abuse. So, they tend to use punishments as in kicking or hitting when their pets could not do as requested.

            In a nutshell, pet abuse cases occur because of various reasons. No matter what is the reason, we should not perform this act because animals also deserve the right to be protected. In other hand, we should together fight against to the pet abusers and reduce the rate of pet abuse.

Question 2(c) -Explain their impacts on

(i) Society

            Animals can feel the pain and fear like human. However, they cannot voice out their feelings like we do. I believe that animals do hope to gain love and care from its owner. When they being treated differently which is not what they expected, they will become the victims.

Pet abusers who share their videos through internet will influence the youth’s thinking where they may think that it is something cool to do with. As we know that internet is a powerful alternative in spreading the news, once you post something online, people all around the world will get a chance to see it. Soon, it will become a trend or a virus that spread among the youth to encourage them to abuse the animals.

            Moreover, pet abuse issues gave awareness to the society about the need to enhance the force against pet abusers. With these issues happened around, we have to aware that animals need protection from us. We should not avoid ourselves from this issue but educate and provide information related to next generation by modeling in our daily life.

(ii) Nation

            Throughout the studies of this issue, it reflects the mentality of the people. A person who is caring will never harm or torture an animal. It showed that how cruel or violent a person can be when they could not control their emotion. Plus, what they did will be a shame of their countries. Thus, the name of the particular country will be tarnished. On the other hand, lots of pets will be homeless and left with no owners in the shelter. The increase number of abandoned pets will lead to insufficient place to keep them all and enough means to support them. As a result, more and more pets will be suffering from starving and without proper care.

            Internationally, pet abuse will also cause all the non-governmental organizational (NGO) stands out together to request the governments to enhance the laws of animals protection. The organizational who protects animals from harm will organize more campaigns and seminars to raise the awareness of the society and form a caring and love pets’ society. They will tend to recruit more members and spread their objectives through internet too.

            As a summary, pet abuse has brought negative impacts and motivation to the world. Pets are not toys, they have feelings just like we do, so it is time for us to step out and protect them from harm where pet abuse shall be prohibited.

Causes and Effects Essay Outline-Obesity

Introduction

Obesity has been a serious issues that happening among us. According to the reports, Malaysia was being ranked 6^th  in the Asia with high obesity issues in 2010. Obesity is always being misunderstood by the people whereby they think overweight is considered as obesity. However, obesity is about having too much fat in the body. It is related with the eating patterns and habits which play an important part in order to live a healthy life. Therefore, obesity occurs with different causes and lead to several impacts on an individual.

 

Thesis statement:

There are several causes and effects of obesity.

Body:

a. Cause 1: Over eating can affect individuals get obesity easily.

Effect 1: Obesity might affect individual appearance as in fat and tubby. Thus, it will reduce their self-confidence.

Effect 2: Diseases such as heart attack, cancer, high blood pressure are one of the effects of obesity.

b. Cause 2: Lack of exercise can is the main cause of obesity.

Effect 1: Without proper exercise, the function of detoxification system of body is less effective due to lack of sweating.

Effect 2: The blood flow to the tissue in our body will decrease and make us get tired easily and less energetic.

c. Cause 3: Obesity mostly occurs when an individual having an imbalance diet.

Effect 1: Malnutrition will occur when individual only consume on specific that they wanted to.

Effect 2: In this case, individual may be incurred in excessive consumption of fats and cholesterol.

Conclusion

Obesity has brought a lot of disadvantages or negative impacts internally and externally in our life. To sum up, everyone should have start to concern with their health condition and daily lifestyle from now on to avoid obesity. A balance diet and regular exercise would be the key of a healthy lifestyle.

           

Comparing and Contrasting Essay Outline Between Secondary school and University

Introduction

Education is important to everyone at the present time. It is a way of transferring the knowledge, skills and values from a generation to another. The levels of education can be divided into several groups such as primary, secondary and tertiary. Secondary school and university do share some common similarities; yet there are also differences between these two types of institutions. 

Thesis Statement:

There are some similarities and differences between secondary school and university.

Comparison:

Topic sentence 1: Generally, secondary school and university are both institutions that provide education service to mankind.

Supporting Ideas:

a. Places for students to learn and gain knowledge.

b. Give the opportunities for students to expose to the society and gain new experiences.

Topic sentence 2: Besides academic, secondary school and university also offer co-curriculum activities.

Supporting ideas:

a. In secondary school, students can join co-curriculum activities which divided into 3 main groups which are uniform body, sports and clubs.

b. In University, they provide more co-curriculum activities that concern with socialize and expose more to the society.

Contrast:

Topic sentence 1: Secondary school and university can be easily differentiated in terms of price.

Supporting ideas:

a. The school fees for secondary school are cheaper than university.

b. The cost of studying in university is higher due to the higher education is provided.

Topic sentence 2: The dress code for secondary school is away different from university.

Supporting ideas:

a. The dress code is fixed for secondary school students.

b. University students are required to wear in smart casual. 

Conclusion

Different levels of education are provided at different price levels although secondary school and university share the same aim whereby providing the education and place for the people to study and gain knowledge. The rules and regulation in secondary school is more restricted whereas university is more loose and free. As a summary, there are similarities and also differences between secondary school and university.

A little update

Life is getting busier where tests and assignments' due date are just around the corner. This semester is obviously not as free and relax as first semester. It's kind of stressful especially when I do not understand what is the lecturer talking about. Maybe I am still not used to her teaching method whereby we need to copy notes while listening to her explanation at the same time and the notes given is very LITTLE. With the addition of club activities, I always get tired easily and sleep in a late time. Sometimes, I doubt that whether I have extra time for those club activities. Seeing others handling their academic and club activities so well, if they can, why not for me? That's what on my mind and the reason I still hold on to it now. I wanted to enjoy university life with gaining different experience, learn more and see things in different view point instead of just study.

In the era of globalization, the technology is extremely advance compare to the old times. In the 70s, we used bicycle as our daily transportation till the first cars was being invented. So, cars can be seen everywhere now and slowly replacing the function of bicycles. Though, cars and bicycles are both transportation, but they come in different price, size, and the way of function.

Thesis Statement

Cars and bicycles are both transportation, however they come in different price, size, and the way of function.

Topic Sentence 1: Car and bicycle have a big difference when it compared in terms of price.

Supporting Details:

1.  The price of cars is very expensive which cost us at least RM15k.

2. Bicycles are being sold in a lower price where we can actually buy it using 
     few hundreds ringgit.

Topic Sentence 2: From the appearance, we can differentiate the size of cars and bicycles.

Supporting Details:

1. Cars are huge enough to carry minimum 2 or even more passengers.

2. Bicycles can be ride by a person or a maximum of two people.

Topic Sentence 3: The way of cars and bicycle being operated are different

Supporting Details:

1. Cars used petrol to let the engine function.

2. Bicycle used dynamic energy which is more environmental that produces when a 
    person ride on it.

CONCLUSION

From here,we know that cars are more convenient to people compared to bicycles. People prefer cars more even though the price is more expensive.Yet, bicycles are still being used by the mankind. In a nutshell, although there are differences between cars and bicycle still they bring us convenient in a few ways.
